Making Wedding Planning Less Stressful

Be sure to plan at least one "wedding free" weekend during the months before - to relax, forget the planning and remember why you're doing it all in the first place!

"Pack 'Shout' wipes and club soda for the day of . . . if you don't you will surely wish you had!"                                                                      - Lisa, married 2003

Grooms are less busy the “morning of” – and so can handle last-minute jobs (and keeping busy fights the nerves!).                                         - Alex, married 2002

Book a b&b for a relaxing night after the wedding - don't leave until at least the next day! And while honeymoon locations of course are totally up to personal taste, my advice is be sure you're going somewhere where you can REST.
                                                                                     - Suzanne, married 2001

Take 30 minutes of quiet, alone time to write down everything you want for your wedding -- prioritizing everything. Ask your fiancé to do the same. Then compare lists. You´ll be surprised at some of the differences - and by knowing in advance what's really important to both of you, you'll be able to avoid conflicts and ensure that you both have the meaningful, joyful wedding of your dreams.
                                                                                - Carrie, married 2002

"Write out your checks before the start of 'the day,' and be sure to have cash for tips."                                                                               - Pete, married 2002

"Bring one paper grocery bag for each of your bridesmaids to the room where you'll be changing. Have each bridesmaid write her name on her own bag — and use it to store her clothing after she changes into her gown. That way everything will be stored compactly and neatly, and everyone will be able to find all of their own things quickly after the reception."
