Saving money on flowers-- and using flowers
to save money!
This month, flower and cake tips from
a seasoned wedding professional to help you save money, reduce
stress, and add a touch of personal style to your wedding.
My favorite tip for decorating the head
table -- bring vases to your reception site, and use them
to hold the bridal party's bouquets during the reception.
You'll solve the problem of what to do with the bouquets,
while also displaying them prominently for everyone to see.
And you'll avoid the expense of flowers for the head table.
Another flower-related tip: consider using
flower petals to decorate a simpler cake (even a sheet
cake). You will save a lot of money on the cake (perhaps even
hundreds of dollars), while also adding an elegant, personal
touch. You can even add a seasonal flair this way.
[Editor's note: we recently saw a variation
on this wedding cake idea that was beautiful: fresh fruit
decorating a rather simple tiered cake. Large fresh strawberries,
grapes, halved figs, and other fruits added a fresh, modern,
colorful touch ... and probably saved money, too.]
