Best of 2003! Wedding Time-Savers
Tips of the Year.
Take 30 minutes of quiet, alone time
to write down everything you want for your wedding -- prioritizing
everything. Ask your fiancé to do the same. Then compare
lists. You´ll be surprised at some of the differences
- and by knowing in advance what's really important to both
of you, you'll be able to avoid conflicts and ensure
that you both have the meaningful, joyful wedding of your
dreams. - Carrie, married 2002
Grooms are less busy the “morning of”
– and so can handle last-minute jobs (and keeping busy fights
the nerves!). - Alex, married 2002
"This was the best tip I got: be sure to
have a sleeping pill for the night before. I needed
it!" - Molly, married 2001
My tip? Flip flops!! I switched from my shoes
to adorable, beaded, white flip flops at the start
of my reception. No one was the wiser . . . and I danced the
night away in comfort! - Jillian, married 2002
Create a separate email account for
signing up for wedding information and forums. You can sign
up for whatever you want, without worrying about wedding email
clogging your regular accounts. - Joanne, married 2003
We saved a lot of money -- and enjoyed our
reception dinner more -- because we bought our own wine.
We shopped with our favorite local merchant, who helped us
find cases of a wine that was unique and special to us (and
a fantastic value). Even with corkage, we saved . . . plus,
we saved a case to enjoy with friends over the year
after our wedding (and on our first anniversary!). It was
a great way to remember our celebration. - Beth, married
2001
After overspending on so many things,
we didn't have much budget for flowers. Thankfully,
our florist was ingenious: she created lovely bouquet style
arrangements for our ceremony aisle that she later placed
on the tables at our reception as centerpieces. Our guests
were none the wiser, and we saved tons of money (and
avoided wasting flowers, too!). - Carla, married 2003
