Tips, Solutions and Ideas To Make Your Wedding Planning Less Stressful
April, 2004 -- Welcome,
Spring Wedding Season!
This month's featured tip:
Don't Forget To Plan a Perfect Finish
An important aspect of planning a wedding
reception that is often overlooked is the tear-down of
the event. Specifically, who will be responsible for
the clean-up? To avoid losing track of key items -- as well
as overtime charges from your facility -- be sure to know
the answers to the following questions:
- Who is taking care of the wedding gifts?
It's important to have adequate transportation for the gifts,
and help on-hand if necessary to load the gifts into the vehicle.
- Who is responsible for wedding accessories and decorations
such as the engagement and guest books, leftover favors, toasting
glasses, cake knife and server? Someone needs to be responsible
for securing these items and storing them while you're
on your honeymoon.
- How much time do your vendors require for tear-down? Consider
these issues in scheduling -- if your rental or decoration
company arrives late, or takes longer than scheduled to tear
down and pack up, you could be charged overtime by your
facility. Ditto for your DJ . . . so be sure to know how much
time you need to budget for these vendors to pack up.
It can be helpful to enlist family and
friends to take on some of these assignments -- so that
you know that everything will be handled in your absence,
eliminating a potential source of stress!
